Cabutra enhances the sustainability of human and natural communities by strengthening and expanding the capacities and skills of emerging organizations and emerging organization leaders.
We provide capacity building, training, and mentoring to smaller organizations and social enterprises, as well as on-the-job training and mentoring to emerging organization leaders.
We focus (but not exclusively) on organizations and projects with headquarters and/or programs in developing countries.
Cabutra is the synergistic culmination of its founder’s thirty-five years of professional experience as an international development practitioner, a nonprofit manager, and consultant for smaller organizations, as well as a trainer and mentor to students of all ages.
Our focus on smaller, more localized organizations and social enterprises is an expression of the founder’s belief in the importance, value, and influence of this type of organization.
We help make the most of those organizations and projects that could use it the most.
Cabutra is a small outfit that leverages its decades of experience in support of the social change community, primarily in developing countries.
Cabutra's lead advisor, Tom Skeele, has served as senior staff, capacity building consultant and project contractor for nonprofits, non-government organizations and social enterprises throughout the United States, as well as in Central American, South America and Southeast Asia.
The other Board members bring an equally diverse suite of professional experiences and expertise.
